Firstly, proper detoxification (detox) or cleansing protocols must start with an accurate picture of what the goal is for the cleanse, for example:
- Clear mind
It is important for both the patient and the doctor to understand the goals of the cleanse in order to reach maximum effectiveness. Questions such as how long?, what to eat or not eat?, what to drink or not drink? What supplements to use and when? etc.
Secondly, any detox or cleanse should be monitored by a professional in the case that the person starts having symptoms. The healthcare professional should know when to continue the detox, adjust dosages of supplements or discontinue the protocol depending on symptomatology.
Thirdly, it is common knowledge that no individual is exactly the same, not even twins. So why then do we medically “treat” everyone the same. It is our belief that individual care plans be established for each patient. We establish a base line normal via the manual muscle test and then we analyze different products to see which one your body responds to the best.
This type of analysis is constant. The reason? It’s because our bodies are adapting and evolving all the time. Our body yesterday might have needed more Vitamin C where as today it needs more Vitamin D. A bit confusing I know but imagine getting so much rain your yard flooded, you don’t need more rain you need sunshine to evaporate the water and the ground to absorb the water. The same concept happens in your body all day, everyday.
Finally, long term goals must be established for continued success in the persons health.
